The watercolour paintings and motifs on this website are by artist Lesley Fotherby. Lesley studied in Bath, London and Leicester.  Her particular interest is movement and she has painted many musicians and dancers at work including the National Youth Ballet, the Birmingham Royal Ballet, and the Lucy Cavendish Singers. Her works are regularly exhibited at the Chris Beetles Gallery in London, where she enjoys a long association.

Watercolour is a very immediate medium and so perfect for attempting to portray the movement and energy of performers. My hope is to catch the moment.
